Champion Hampshire Boar - Champion Spot Gilt - Champion Crossbred Boar
Brinning Genetics brought an outstanding set to this year’s Fall Classic. He started off the day winning the Champion Hampshire boar with a son of Long Time Coming. The dam of lot 188-1 is a Party Down sow who was the Champion Jr. Hampshire gilt at the 2010 NJSS.
Brinning also exhibited lot 404-5, the Champion Spot gilt. She is a Transformer x Chaos(Littermate to Kolt 45).
To round out the day Brinning also exhibited the Champion Crossbred Boar (Big Papi x Recovery). Brinning’s are retaining littermate gilts from all three of these litters. Stop by their pens to see one of the stoutest sets at the 2011 Fall Classic.
Champion Hampshire Gilt
The champion Hampshire gilt was lot 1-1 exhibited by Cedar Ridge. This Optimus Prime daughter traces back to Stainless Steel on both sides of her pedigree. Stainless Steel was the $21,000 top selling Hampshire boar at the 2008 Indiana State Fair . In addition, this gilt’s maternal grand dam is a littermate to the $6800 top selling Hampshire gilt at the 2007 INSF. Cedar Ridge has kept two littermate gilts out of this outstanding litter.
Champion Spot Boar
The Champion Spot Boar was raised by E.B.B. Genetics and is lot 413-1. He was a Off the Charts son that was raised by a Blind Faith sow, that E.B.B. purchased at the 2010 Fall Classic for $5000. Champion Yorkshire Gilt
Shipley Swine Genetics exhibited the Champion Yorkshire gilt at the 2011 Fall Classic. This Grizz daughter is dammed by Cool Gal 63-8 who is a Tank x Goliath. Shipley’s will be offering littermates as bred gilts later this fall.
Champion Yorkshire Boar
Lot 7-6, a Olsen Yorkshire boar consignment topped all of the boars in a super competitive Yorkshire drive. The judge stated he was as massive as they come. He is sired by Mighty One and out of a old Tank sow. His mother has raised four other boars that they have sold at National shows. His sire Mighty One is just starting to make a name for himself as this was one of the first litters.
Champion Duroc Gilt
Platt Show Pigs brought a sensational Duroc gilt to the 2011 Fall Classic. She is sired by Einstein, who also sired the champion Duroc at the 2011 NAILE, WI, and the Res Duroc at Indiana and the Fall Classic. Her dam is a Buck Cherry from Malcom. Champion Duroc Boar
Lot 174-1 of Palmers was this year’s Champion Duroc boar. He is a Triple Rock on a Red win 9-1.
Champion Poland Gilt
Gerald Boicken brought a unique Poland Gilt to the Fall Classic. Lot 503-6 was sired by Brother Love (bought privately from Rinker & Richie, an Atomic Bomb son) on a Pretty Boy gilt that was a $2100 National Barrow Show purchase. Boicken also had a top Poland weanling and recently won the Polands at NAILE. Don’t miss out on this champion female!
Champion Poland Boar
Jim Wiats from Park Hill Oklahoma exhibited the Grand Champion Poland Boar. Lot 524-1 is sired by Without a Question. This April boar came through a tough Poland drive to capture the win. Stop by Jim Wiats pens to see his intriguing set of Polands.
Champion Berkshire Gilt
The Champion Berk gilt, lot 305-7 was exhibited by Goodnight Berkshires. She is a Double Stuff x CC Miss Tom. Miss Tom is a littermate to the 2010 NBS Hog College gilt and is also the mother of the 2011 NBS Champion Berkshire gilt.
Champion Berkshire Boar
Lot 313-1 was exhibited by Randy Pullman as the Champion Berkshire boar. This boar is sired by Gary Coleman and is dammed by a littermate to Time After Time.
Champion Chester Gilt
Drew Voorhees raised Lot 618-5 , the Champion Chester Gilt. She was sired by a Ronnie son and out of a The Best sow. The mother of this gilt was 2nd in class last year at the 2010 Fall Classic. She is very sound with plenty of bone to match. The other littermates to this Champion were 6th and 8th in class at Louisville.
Champion Chester Boar
The Grand Champion Chester Boar was Lot 619-1 shown by Yantis Swine Farm. This is the first litter out of his sire, Open Road! Open Road’s mother and grandmother were the producers of most of Yantis’ champions; his dam is a Target daughter that’s grandmother is the backbone of his herd. A littermate gilt was also sold online and is slated to be shown at San Antonio this spring.
